A Nice Sign

House Speaker Stanley Lowe today reversed his previous ban of all questions from the previous parliament. This follows on the heels of his highly questionable move to earlier bar opposition MPs from asking ministers questions from the last parliament.

It seems he finally decided to step up to the plate and tell Dr. Brown, quite rightly, to fuck himself. He said:
"Even more unfortunate was a most extraordinary press release from the Cabinet Office which left the mistaken impression that the Speaker had approved such a release and also unwittingly brought into question the independence and integrity of the Speaker’s Office"
I imagine there might be some form of consequences for him being so brave, but at least he took this step forward.

We have to do all we can to stop this government from inching ever closer to non-transparent pseudo-fascism.

Of course, asking questions in parliament will not really change all that much, and at most it will be a thing we need to constantly fight to keep, but you all already know what I'll say is needed to have true governance of the people, by the people, for the people.
